The District Clerk can now e-mail documents to you for a flat fee of $3.00 per document.  The document will be in “tif” format.  If you are requesting a docket sheet this will be in a summary form and will be sent in “html” format.  Before calling to tell us you have not received the document, check your spam folder.  If you have an account with the office you can fax your request to the office and your account will be debited. You may request a document in person and request that it be emailed to you.  Payment must be made for the document in advance.  If you do not have an account and wish to use a credit card, remember that other charges will apply for the credit card usage.  Fax requests should include the name of the requestor, the cause number, the document requested, the method of payment, a phone number, and the return email address.  For governmental entities requests must be made by fax on the letterhead of your agency.  E-mail addresses for clerks are only for outgoing emails.  Requests will not be accepted or processed through a deputy clerk’s outgoing email addresses.

In 2010 the Office of Court Administration (OCA) will institute a number of changes to the statistical reporting for the courts of Texas .  As a part of this process the District Clerk’s Office in McLennan County will be requiring a civil/family cover sheet be filled out for each new suit, modification, enforcement action, post-judgment action or ancillary action filed.  This change begins February 1, 2010.  Obtain the form here.  For those of you that e-file you will include the cover sheet as an attachment.

Beginning February 1, 2010 attorneys and local title companies will no longer be able to check files out of the office.  All files in your possession must be returned to this office by February 1, 2010,

If you are a court-appointed attorney or an attorney ad-litem in a CPS case you will be able to receive copies of the Judge’s orders or documents to assist in your representation free.
